Ignore Nichimokko's image!
Please note that the bit I received from Amazon matched the graphic image provided by Amazon, and NOT Nichimokko's photograph. This bit has an approximately 1/4" open area between the carbide cutting edge and the bearing. This may be appropriate for your situation, but required a thicker template that I had, and thus would not work for me (i.e. cutting edge too far away from template.) I would imagine that most people would be better served by a standard 1" long bit, unless you need that gap for some reason. I'm going for a shorter (1/2" long cutting length) standard top bearing bit (Freud 50-103 5/8-Inch Diameter Top Bearing Flush Trim Router Bit with 1/4-Inch Shank) instead. (The Amana Tool 45487 Flush Trim Template and Pattern Plunge 2-Flute Carbide Tipped Router Bit with Ball Bearing, 1/4-Inch Shank would also be an excellent choice.)
